See all photos and video on main website: Garage Kept Motors. Offered here is a 100-percent original and three-owner 1946 Chrysler Windsor 4-Door Sedan. The car is finished in its original Burgundy paint over the original Plaid cloth interior. The car is powered by the original 250ci/114hp Spitfire Inline 6-Cylinder engine mated to the original Fluid Drive Hydraulic transmission. The engine has been maintained over the year and the car remains in nice driving condition. It starts on command and runs smooth. It is truly a Chrysler timepiece and has not been altered in any way. This is just a three-owner vehicle. The first owner was a sea captain living on Beaver Island, a small settlement in Northern Lake Michigan. He purchased two Chrysler Windsors brand new in 1946, one for him and one for his wife. This is the only one that left the island. It was sold to the local mechanic years later and then our client, a previous resident on the island, purchased it in 1988 and for the first time it was driven on the mainland. He is a classic vehicle collector and historian, and tried to maintain the originality of this car to the highest degree. It is not perfect but remains as authentic to the day the Beaver Island sea captain took delivery. The car comes with many service records, and even some original documentation, including the original 1946 license plate packaging from the original owner, signed by Herman H. Dignan, Michigans Secretary of State from 1943-1946. It is an incredible piece of history at a very reasonable asking price. Call or e-mail for more information, or to make a reasonable offer. Thank you for looking.
