What can we say about this 1953 Chrysler Windsor? It is a really nice car that with some minor work and tender loving care will be ready to go to the Ice Cream Shop. We REALLY LIKE the Astro style dash that makes you feel almost space age in a classic 50s era car. The mechanicals and interior are in decent shape, the body needs some minor work, and the paint is passable as a driver but could use some work in the future.
This Windsor is in good general condition, the 264 Cubic Inch Straight 6 starts, runs strong, is economical, and will basically run forever. This Windsor runs, drives in our yard, idles, and shifts. Try to find a Windsor in this condition, most of them are really rusty, have been scraped, or have the engine taken for a different car, is not easy. Many have also been fully restored and folks are asking allot of money, we are not. This is a great car with good bones and would be a great project, and it runs now!
Mechanically,good condition.It starts, moves, shifts with itssemi automatic 4 speedhilow style transmission,and off you go. Be careful though because you will stop traffic due to people wanting to see the car.
The interior is in very good condition overall, the seats have been recovered and look good,the headliner is in good shape,overall good suitable condition as a weekend cruiser. The seats feel good,the dash is in great shape,and touchables all feel good. Enjoy listening to the upgraded stereo for your favorite tunes!
If you are a fan of these cars this is not one to miss. It will not last.
