1969 Plymouth Barracuda *Cuda* Formula S, convertible 4spd 1 of one built this way. This is super rare car, and one of only 83 Formula S Cuda convertibles ever built in 1969 with the Hipo 340 option. Even fewer cars, only a couple dozen, were 4spds like this car and only one or possibly two were Special Ordered R4 (performance red) the R4 painted wheels are correct also as show clearly on the original build sheet. 1969 was the first year Chrysler used the term we all coined as the Cuda and this Formula S 4spd convertible gets the mail with the hipo 340cid engine 3:55 sure grip rear, sway bar, buckets seats, factory tach, and disc brakes. The bold color is stunning in person with white power top and int. Incredibly restored to concourse condition currently and not driven but handful of show miles it is all shaken out and ready to fly for summer. This car is fully documented with Galen doc, to Dave Wise, and recognized in the Chrysler historic registry and has lots of original paperwork including a very nice original build sheet, it also has matching VINs throughout the car. This incredibly rare car is investment grade end to end. 1969-70 are the best years for the 340 engine as is was downgraded in 1971 and later years to 9:1 comp and 20-30% less horsepower. If youve never seen one like this then grab a Chrysler history book. You will find typically 67 68 barracuda cars, or the notchback and fastback version of the S in sunfire yellow, white, green, brown, maybe a very rare shade of blue. As it sits, this is the only know hi-impact color 1969 Formula S Cuda conv. 340 4spd left standing.
